This is to update you on the progress of the international conference on Theory and Application of Computational Chemistry(TACC 2008).

* Invited and Oral presentations

We could still arrange some invited and oral presentations for the parallel sessions. Please let us know if you are willing to join us.

* Tentative Program

The tetative program is now available, please visit the website: for details. Please note that some of the contribution sent to us recently may not included, if you find anything not appropriate or incorrect please send us an email to

Chair persons for each session have also been assigned upon voluntary requests or recommendation by appropriate committees.  If you are a chair person listed in the programme please check if the schedule conflicts with your travel plan, let us know so that we could make appropriate change.

* Conference Excursions

Various tour options are available on the web: Reservation will be available on the conference site. If one plans to travel for longer duration we could also help arrane.

* Bring your students

TACC 2008 provides an excellent opportunity for the students to discuss science with leading scholars in various fields of computational and theoretical chemistry. Students are the future of computational/theoretical chemistry. The registration could be further reduced by applying for the scholarship. Please refer to: for details. All the students are invited to make a presentation as well.

* Proceedings

The conference proceeding will be published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP). The organizers would like to ask the participants to make a contribution. It will be called: "Theory and Applications of Computational Chemistry".   Please refer the attached template for details instructions. If one is interested in submit their works to a journal. You could consider "Interdisciplinary Sciences-Computational Life Sciences"( or "Molecular Simulation"

* For foreign attendees, Visa is usually required to visit China

This might be different from visiting other countries, if official invitation from Chinese government is required please complete the appropriate forms (download) and provide copy of passport to us before July 31st, 2008. Some consulate may not require the official letter. If an invitation from the organizer is required please feel free to let us know.

* Nomination of Awards

Nomination for Awards of "The Life Achievements in Theoretical Biophysics", "The Young Computational Chemist Award" has begun. For details please visit
